Floor level and lift access: Ground floor with lift or ramp is cheapest. Third floor without lift adds significant labour. Anything above fourth floor in a walk-up requires extra crew and often extra hours.
Distance and lane access: A shift where the truck can park at the gate is quicker than one where the truck must park 100 metres away and goods have to be trolleyed in.

Red Flags of a Suspiciously Cheap Quote
A quote 30 to 40 percent below the market average almost always means one of these things is missing. Either the vehicle is smaller than needed and you will be asked to pay extra for a second trip. Or packing material is not included and will be added on moving day at inflated rates. Or the crew is subcontracted to daily-wage labour who lack training in fragile-item handling. Or there is no GST invoice at all, which means no employer reimbursement is possible.
